Position Summary:
The Photo Experience Operations Manager will be responsible for the direct oversight of all photography related responsibilities at Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. This includes the direct supervision of a team of Photography Guides and Sales staff with the responsibility of taking creative, unique photographs of all Grand Canyon Resort Corporation guests. Ensures Photographers are engaging guests and serving as tour guides at Grand Canyon West, while also taking multiple photos. Ensures all camera and computer equipment is in good working condition and that Photographers have the supplies and equipment needed. Works with IT and all photography hardware and software vendors to ensure in-house and third party photography hardware and software are operating optimally and maximizing potential revenues. Responsible for daily scheduling of employees to ensure coverage at Grand Canyon West, as well as GCRC East Operations. Ensure all employees are properly trained and able to utilize all photography related equipment to its full potential. Will also be responsible to ensure that the Photography team is providing outstanding guest service at all times for all guests at GCRC.
 
Knowledge and Abilities:
1.      Demonstrated ability to communicate well and interact with guests, employees, and vendors in a clear, concise manner.  
2.      Demonstrated ability to train, promote, and deliver outstanding guest service, and to hold the photography team accountable to deliver excellent guest service at all times.  
3.      Demonstrated experience in use of camera equipment and related software. Ability to train employees in photography techniques and software utilization.
4.      Ability to recruit, lead, coach, train, develop and motivate Photographer Guides and Sales staff.
5.      Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a positive and cooperative team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.  Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast paced environment. Ability to handle escalated customer issues and deescalate any tense or negative situations.
6.      Knowledge of the GCRC, Grand Canyon West attractions, the Skywalk, and Hualapai history and culture.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.      Direct supervision of Photographer Guides and Sales team.
2.      Responsible to ensure Photographers are engaging guests, acting as tour guides at Grand Canyon West, and taking creative photographs that appeal to our guests and result in photo package purchases and increased revenues. Photography team must also ensure customer flows are meeting expectations.
3.      Ensure all camera equipment and software is in excellent working condition and all employees are trained on all appropriate equipment and software. Must also train employees on creative photography and on enhancement techniques using software. 
4.      Perform regular and timely Performance Review discussions and documentation with the photography and sales teams, and promote a positive working environment while providing individual growth opportunities for direct reports.
5.      Assist guests with questions they have regarding Grand Canyon West, the Skywalk, East Operations, Guano Point, Hualapai Point, Hualapai River Runners, and Hualapai history and culture. Provide and promote outstanding guest service Every Guest, Every Time.
6.      Responsible for scheduling photography and sales teams at both Grand Canyon West and East Operations.
7.      Maintain equipment and supply inventory.
8.      Ensure that all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner, as appropriate.
9.      Keep  the General Managers and executive team apprised of all issues and concerns.
10.  Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
1.      Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or another related field, required.
2.      Five (5) years supervisory experience in a high-volume, multi-location business entity with experience using photography equipment, required.
3.      In lieu of education, ten (10) years of aforementioned experience is required.   
4.      Valid and insurable drivers’ license with clean record.
5.      Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
 
Working Conditions:
Primarily high-volume resort operations, as well as office environment. Must be able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, type, and walk for extended periods. This position will also be exposed to harsh outdoor and weather elements, including extreme heat, cold, sun, wind, rain, and snow. Must be able to conduct themselves professionally and tactfully with employees at all levels of the organization, guests, and vendors, including situations where other individuals may be upset or angry. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
