Position Summary:
Front of the House (FOH) Team Members are responsible for various front of house restaurant positions. The position responsibilities and job duties may change based on need during business hours. Work assignments will be determined during scheduling; work assignments may change without notice. Individuals are expected to fulfill job duties specific to; cashiering, host/hostess, waiter/waitress, busser, and/or runner for to-go orders. Some job functions do receive tips from patrons; tip policies may include pooling and distribution between FOH team members.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate well and interact with guests in a clear, concise and friendly manner.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service by providing prompt, courteous and helpful information and service to guests.
- Experience in use of POS systems and handling cash and credit transactions while following proper cash handling policies and procedures.
- Ability to reconcile cash drawer and end of day sales reports.
- Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
- Ability to communicate specials/menu items in a clear and concise manner
- Knowledge of Hualapai tourism offerings, Hualapai history and culture.
Duties & Responsibilities:
All FOH responsible for;
- Assist guests with questions they have concerning Hualapai tourism offerings, Hualapai history and culture.
- Provide outstanding customer service using high service standards.
- Answer the restaurant phone, take to go orders and prepare them for pick up.
- Explain daily specials and menu items to guests or call-ins and assist wait staff with food and beverage orders, if needed.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
If assigned cashiering job duties;
- Handle cash and credit restaurant transactions using the POS system.
- Responsible for assigned cash drawer and end of day balancing of cash and sales reports.
- Handle to go transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures, assists servers in collecting payment when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain tip payout slips.
If assigned host/hostess duties;
- Promptly greet and seat customers in the restaurant. Provide menus and answer any questions regarding the daily specials, menu or questions about Hualapai history and culture.
- Assist Cashier, if needed, by handling transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures.
If assigned waiter/waitress duties;
- Promptly greet customers at tables. Explain menus and specials, answering any questions the customers might have.
- Take customers’ food and beverage orders and serve when ready, expediting service as much as possible.
- Deliver and process customers’ checks by handling transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for cash/credit card sales and end of day balancing of cash and sales reports.
- Ensure area is cleaned and stocked at all times.
- Clean and reset tables.
If assigned busser duties;
- Responsible for clearing tables of used dishes, silverware and refuse and transport back to kitchen using a bus cart.
- Clean cleared tables and reset in preparation for next guests.
- Greet guests as they are seated and take and deliver drink orders. Assist wait staff, as needed.
- Ensure restaurant and tables are clean and stocked at all times.
Qualifications:
- Good oral communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Food Handlers Card.
- Prior customer service and working with a POS system or cash handling position preferred.
- Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
Working Conditions:
Restaurant environment. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.

Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs, Arizona. In 1988, the Hualapai People, who have been part of this land since time immemorial, established GCRC, welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established, and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area, the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007.
